Well, abandoning our mission in Iraq would be a terrible idea for a whole host of reasons. Will Iran take over? Will shelter be given to Al Qaeda? Will all of our soldiers who have given their lives there have died in vain? Will we abandon the Iraqi people to their fate at the hands of terrorists and dictators?

It's about so much more than just money, mimiped. The truth is that the current financial crisis was not caused by an over streched budget at home, so bailing out of Iraq would not have averted the crisis. This crisis was caused by Democrats in the Congress, and the Clinton Administration forcing banks to throw common lending practices out the window and offer mortgages to people who couldn't afford one. When these people all started defaulting on their loans, the banks who had invested heavily in securities built from these loans found themselves in very bad shape.

Do some research on the Community Reinvestment Act and then tell me how getting out of Iraq would undo what Carter and Clinton did in the 70s and the 90s.

It just makes no sense..

Heres my question
If it costs us apprx. 9 billion a month to be in Iraq. Why don't we just get out and use the $ here. Why was this never an option? Then we won't need this "bail out". How can we fix another if we can't fix ourselves.
