Why doesn’t Nancy Pelosi love her neighbor as she loves herself?
11 October 2007Only one Burning Man festival has passed since Code Pink set up camp in front of House Speaker Pelosi’s San Francisco home to protest her unwillingness to act on her promise to end the war and bring home the troops. The money quote going around the blogosphere these days is Nancy’s exasperation with the protesters, wishing they were simply bad-smelling homeless people so she could have them all arrested.
“And if they were poor, and they were sleeping on my sidewalk, they’d be arrested for loitering, but because they have ‘impeach Bush’ across their chest, it’s the First Amendment.”
Verily, they have rights, and so what is a Speaker do? Let’s ask her neighbor:
The neighborhood has lost 5 parking spots and Code Pink has been zoned down the street, away from the Speaker’s front door and house, in a stunning arabesque that landed the whole pink lot … directly in front of my house.
