Obscure, violent left-wing blogger threatens murder for hire!
21 October 2007Sadly, Mr. Chuck Adkins of Lincoln Park, Michigan has now taken his rude behavior a step too far. Tonight I posted a respectful comment (no profanity or anything) to his blog asking him to explain to me how Limbaugh had “mocked” the Frost kid. I don’t listen to Rush, so I was curious. I hadn’t seen any mocking of this child taking place. I had simply seen people questioning the assertion that the public needed to pay for the family’s health insurance, as I question myself.
Unfortunately, Mr. Adkins doesn’t seem to be the kind of man who can answer simple questions about his beliefs without flying off into a violent rage. Within minutes of posting my comments, I received this email from Mr. Adkins.
Hey Idiot,
Don’t waste your damn time or mine commenting on my fucking Blog, I saw what you wrote, so, don’t come around thinking I will let your fucking comments stand.

My, my! Aren’t we testy this evening. I certainly didn’t expect that kind of a response. I wrote him back saying that I assumed he would be too big of a pussy to let my comment remain on his site, which proved to be true since it is gone now, and stated that I assumed there was no mocking going on. I quickly received this threat in reply:
it was when he was imitating the fucking kid, ya fucking asshat… if you get your god damned head out your fucking ass or out of George W. Bush’s ASS you’d see that.
damned idiot, now go run your lame ass blog and leave me fuck alone, before I call a damn hit out on your ass. I know people in Georgia, ya know.
That, my friend, is called a threat of physical violence (murder in this case), and it is against the law in every state of our great Union. I’m sure the police in Lincoln Park will be interested to hear all about it..
UPDATE: I actually had the privledge of speaking to Mr. Adkins on the phone tonight. His mom was kind enough to go get him for me. I know you’ll have a hard time believing this, but he says it was all just some kind of misunderstanding and he wasn’t really threatening me after all. Imagine that!!
He has also added some pretty interesting comments to this post as well. I’m sure the folks at GMail and Comcast will be real interested to read what he had to say..
UPDATE 2: Low and behold we’ve just recieved the sad, sad news that within 45 minutes of my call to his mom’s house, Charlie has decided to “Take a break” from political blogging for a while! How sad! That just breaks my heart, Charlie! What in the world will we all do without you?
Well at least I won’t have to call you mom tomorrow and let her know what kind of sick and violent things you’ve been saying about people online using her Comcast connection. It’s probably for the best.
UPDATE 3 WITH AUDIO: After many requests, here is the actual audio of my midnight phone call to obscure, violent, left-wing blogger Chuck Adkins. It seems that this unpleasant encounter was enough to make poor Chuck give up swearing and start reading the Bible again. If Chuck is sincere, then I wish him the best with the changes he’s making in his life. As far as I’m concerned, this incident is in the past.
THE LAST UPDATE: Chuck has apologized to me and I have accepted his apology. I consider the situation closed. You guys lay off the poor guy a little. He made a mistake and has paid for it. I forgive him.

Like I said, there’s two sides to every story, I’ve got the copies of ALL the e-mails. I also have a copy where You commented on my blog, without ID’ing yourself as from this Blog. You knew where the insult was, you just were looking for trouble. to make name for yourself.

Well, the e-mails didn’t originate from a comcast e-mail account, so, there’s nothing they will do to me. I’m not worried about you at all. If anything goes down here. I have you phone number and I also have your IP address too. My parents own this cable internet and if it’s shut down. they’ll be after you in court.
But, that won’t happen. because I wrote the message from G-MAIL…
yeah, I’m 35 and I live with my folks, thanks your wonderful President.
I’d just assume drop this and stop the bickering.

Not sure what President Bush has to do with your home life, but I’m sure it all makes sense in your mind.

I realize there maybe any number of reasons why a 35 y/o would be living with his/her parents

Chuck,
I’d like you to know that I publicly accept your apology and I appreciate it. I think a few of the caveats you included in your apology seem to lessen the impact, but I will work from the assumption that you meant it and it was heart felt. I was not intending to lay a trap for you, but I did intend to give you a hard time for some of the opinions you expressed on your blog. I would also like to say publicly that I am sorry for communicating in a way that pushed so many of your buttons. While I did intend to get a heated debate started with you, I did not intend for things to spiral out of control as far as they did, and for my part in that situation, I am sorry as well.
This whole discussion started with your assertion that those children who were murdered in cold blood by that deranged off-duty police officer somehow only “got what they deserved” because they had verbally insulted him. I think that position is disgusting, Chuck. Nobody’s life is worth a verbal insult. Not yours, not mine, and certainly not 6 wet-behind-the-ears teenagers. Your comments on that topic represented a position that is indefensible from a Christian world view. I hope you will reconsider your opinion on that matter.
Our conversation went downhill from there. I was bothered by some of the opinions you expressed online and I intended to challenge you on them. There were times when I certainly phrased my remarks to you in a way that was meant to express to you my disgust with your opinion. I was not trying to escalate the situation in the physical realm, but I certainly intended to communicate to you my aggravation with the beliefs you were publishing.
I consider your apology accepted and I will now consider this incident closed. I will not be posting on it again.
I wish you the best in your life and I am sure we will have many more topics for debate in the future. I hope that you and I will both take to heart what we have learned from this exchange and that we can both learn to approach our political rivals with a more open heart, a more Christ-like demeanor, and a willingness to allow ourselves to disagree agreeably.
