We’ve moved to a real server!!
21 October 2007Well, Comcast forced our hand and after over a decade of home hosting, we have graduate up to a real hosting provider. If you see this story then you have made it to the new server. We performed the DNS cut-over last night, right about the time Jawa and a few other sites linked to the stories about Mr. Adkins. Sorry for the poor timing!
Unfortunately that means that if any of you registered or posted comments on the old site, after I had made the database backup and flipped the switch, then your records might not have made it over to the new server. If that is the case, I apologize. Just register yourself again, and post your comment again. After the DNS changes have a good 36 hours to settle down, that shouldn’t be an issue anymore.
I wanted to take a moment and talk about my new server host. After doing some research on my possible options, I decided to give InMotion Hosting my business and I have to tell everyone that the service I have received from InMotion so far as been wonderful! I can’t recommend them highly enough.
I’ve only had a relations ship with them for a few days now, and I’m still experiencing a few growing pains, but overall I have to say that I’m extremely happy with their responsiveness and professionalism. They have been willing to work with me on a few issues I wanted setup my way, instead of the default installation they hand out, and they have been willing to work with me on those issues. Their speedy responsiveness and willingness to work with me has been a real pleasure. So far, I highly recommend them.
